Welcome to our very first featured vintage product on Ironmongery World, where we regularly look at specific items on Ironmongery World and identify what makes them great Shabby Chic products to use in your own homes. So here goes…this week’s featured product are these J Duckett And Son Inscription Decorative Scroll Brackets (click on the link to see the product in our online store).

James Duckett was a “self-made Victorian gentleman” that founded the firm J Duckett & Son, a Sanitary Pipe Manufacturer, where traditionally kiln fired and salt gladded sanitary wares such as, urinals and drains and pipes where manufactured well into the late 60s, and early 70s. J Duckett & Son became one of the largest in the world at that time, until plastic replaced these and were inexpensive to manufacture.

These pair of Victorian style shelf brackets are made from solid cast iron with a natural wax finish. Interesting fact, these types of brackets were originally used to mount high level cisterns to pump water to urinals. As you can see, these very ornate vintage brackets can have many uses for your own home, we will let you be creative with them.
